What macOS version do I need?
Snap to AI requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Which AI tools does it work with?
Snap to AI works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot desktop apps. You can also use Browser Mode to target Safari, Chrome, Arc, Firefox, or Edge for web-based AI chats.
How do I set up the global shortcut?
The default shortcut is ⌘⇧2. To change it, click the Snap to AI icon in your menu bar and select "Change Hotkey". Press any key combination with at least one modifier (⌘, ⌃, ⌥, or ⇧).
How do I choose which AI app to use?
Click the menu bar icon and open the "AI App" submenu. Pick from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, or open "Browser Mode" to target a web browser. You can also select "Other…" to choose any app on your Mac.
Is there a free trial?

How do I activate my license?
After purchasing, you'll receive a license key. Click "Enter License Key" in the menu bar dropdown, paste your key, and click Activate. You can also enter it when the paywall appears after your trial ends.
What is Terminal Mode?
Terminal Mode saves screenshots as PNG files to ~/.snaptoai/captures/ and pastes the file path instead of the image. Choose a target app — Terminal, iTerm, Warp, VS Code, Cursor, or whatever’s in front. Great for CLI tools like Claude Code that accept file paths.
What does Auto Send do?
When Auto Send is on, Snap to AI presses Enter after pasting your screenshot so it sends immediately. Turn it off if you want to type a question or add context before sending.
The app says permissions are missing
Snap to AI needs Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions. Go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and enable both for Snap to AI. You can also click “Permissions…” in the menu bar dropdown to check status.
