Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Snap to AI, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. License

Snap to AI is licensed, not sold. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Snap to AI on any Mac computers that you own or control, for personal or commercial use.

3. Free trial

Snap to AI includes a free trial of 15 screen captures. No account or payment is required to use the trial. After the trial, a one-time purchase of $9 is required to unlock unlimited captures. The trial count is stored locally on your Mac.

4. Payment and license keys

Payments are processed by Stripe. After purchase, a license key is delivered to your email address. One license key unlocks Snap to AI on any Mac computers you own. License keys are non-transferable. Snap to AI does not store your payment information.

5. Refunds

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact support@snaptoai.app within 30 days for a full refund.

6. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Circumvent the trial limit or license validation
  • Use the software for any unlawful purpose

7. macOS permissions

Snap to AI requires the following macOS permissions to function:

  • Screen Recording: Required to capture screenshots of your selected screen region. Without this permission, captures will not work.
  • Accessibility: Required to paste screenshots into AI chat applications and send messages on your behalf. This permission enables Snap to AI to simulate keyboard input (Cmd+V to paste) and mouse clicks in the target application.

By granting these permissions, you authorize Snap to AI to perform these actions. You can revoke either permission at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

8. Terminal Mode

When Terminal Mode is enabled, Snap to AI saves screenshots as PNG files to ~/.snaptoai/captures/ on your Mac and places the file path on your clipboard. These files are stored locally and are not uploaded or transmitted. The app retains up to 50 recent captures and automatically deletes older files.

9. Updates

Snap to AI checks for updates automatically via Sparkle. Update checks contact snaptoai.app to compare version numbers only. No personal information is transmitted. You can disable automatic checks or check manually from the menu bar. You are not required to install updates.

10. Third-party applications

Snap to AI interacts with third-party AI chat applications including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and others. Your use of those applications is governed by their respective terms of service. Snap to AI is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity AI, or Microsoft.

11. Intellectual property

Snap to AI and all associated trademarks, logos, and content are the property of Snap to AI. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

Snap to AI is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.

13. Limitation of liability

In no event shall Snap to AI be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the software. Snap to AI's total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software.

14. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you fail to comply with any term. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the software.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

16. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version will always be available at snaptoai.app/terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
